Caterham Reveals A New Road-Going, Track-Oriented Model
Based off of the existing 620R model, the 620S is more on the sports car side. The new 620S will come with the existing 2.0L, 4-cyl engine which generates a mean 310 hp and 219 lb-ft of torque. The sprint from 0-60 mph comes in at only 3.4 seconds, and get up to a 145 mph top speed. Weighing in at a mere 1,350 lbs, these figures are exceptional.
The 620S will come with a 5-speed manual transmission for a enthusiast-geared ride. To allow for a more comfortable cockpit, the 620S can be fitted with a wide chassis, and a larger gas tank. Due to its model-specific suspension, the 620S is good to go for public roads. As well as a set of carbon fiber fenders. If you want to take it out for track day, you can always swap to the 620R track-ready suspension setup.
As it is a proper ‘sports car’, you will get a number of comfort oriented upgrades, such as a full windshield, leather upholstery and a heater. If this is what you’re looking for, you can expect to cough up around $64,000.
