Mercedes-AMG To Supply V8s For The Aston Martin DB11

Regardless of which variant of the Aston Martin DB11 you opt for, the DB11 is a fantastic grand tourer. Currently Aston offers two options for the Aston Martin DB11; their own 600 horsepower 5.2L V12, and a new twin-turbo 4.0L V8 produced by the prestigious German tuning house, Mercedes AMG. The Aston V12 puts out 516 lb-ft of torque, while the AMG produces 498 lb-ft of torque. Although the specifications are reasonably similar on paper, the V12 is the more expensive option, of course. The real question is, which is the better choice?

Surrounded by the gorgeous scenery and challenging roads of the Andorran mountains, the Aston Martin DB11 V8 was right at home. The grand tourer was built for just this. If you’re looking for a sharper power delivery, then the V8, surprisingly, may be the better option. Obviously some will opt for the bigger sexier V12 simply because its a V12, which is perfectly fine, however the Mercedes AMG V8, specifically the one in this Aston Martin DB11, should certainly not be counted out.
