START’nGO; Ferrari Driving Experience Fiorano

While in the village of Ferrari, commonly known as Fiorano-Modenese, we decided to take advantage of one of the many Ferrari test driving centers. The one that stood out to us the most was the Start’n Go company on Via Gilles Villeneuve-just down the block from the Ferrari factory and museum. The shop owners are a pair of friendly young brothers whom keep the store running year round.

The Start’n Go experience allows its clients to choose between the California, 599 GTB, 458 Italia, F430 and, Scuderia F430. At registration, you have the option of choosing whether you want a Short(10 min), Medium(20 min), Long(30 min), Start’n Go(60 Min) or Villeneuve(2 hr) driving tour.

During your drive, you will have a seasoned Ferrari veteran seated in the passenger seat with you. The instructor I drove with was a very friendly older gentleman who had extensive knowledge of the various models. Though he didn’t speak perfect english, he did try his best to articulate his sentences, and that was much appreciated.

During our driving tour, we opted for the California drop-head. Driving the California through the twisty roads of Maranello-Fiorano was a dream come true! The instructor allowed me to open the naturally aspirated V8 on the open countryside streets every chance I got. As well, they offer a video of your driving tour for you to take home. If you ever find yourself in Maranello/Bologna/Fiorano, I highly suggest you take a visit to the Ferrari Museum and after head to Start’n Go for your test drive!
